KZN Education: Cops probing threats against teachers

The Department of Education in KZN says it's handed over to authorities reports of threats targeting teachers in the province.
It says there have been several shootings at schools.
According to the department, in other instances, hand-written notes with bullets enclosed have been left for teachers at school gates in the uMzinyathi District.

Provincial education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi some measures including the hiring of security guards and police patrols are being implemented.
He says they're also involving community members in finding solutions.
"There is an ongoing engagement in terms of the community leadership because schools are located within a particular community, so it is that community that must make the environment conducive for our educators and learners to do their business freely."
