Police have appealed for information on the murder of a taxi driver who was allegedly shot by a passenger in Durban.

It's understood that the man was driving the minibus on the N3 near Brickfield when one of the passengers pulled out a gun and shot him on Sunday.
"The driver who was driving from Pinetown to Durban was reportedly shot multiple times by an unknown passenger when the taxi was still in motion. No other injuries were reported," says KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda.

He says the suspect, who was wearing a Kaizer Chiefs T-shirt, then fled the scene.
Meanwhile, the South African National Taxi Council in KZN says the attack is even more painful because there were passengers in the taxi.
They say they are investigating the matter.
