KZN disaster teams on standby as rain persists

With more heavy rains set to lash KZN - Co-operative Governance says it's alerted municipalities across the province to remain on stand-by.

The department says a woman and her three children were killed, when lightning struck their home in the Jozini Local Municipality yesterday.
Wet and rainy conditions are expected to continue in some parts until tomorrow.
COGTA's Msawakhe Mayisela says disaster management teams are monitoring areas prone to flooding.
"We are urging our people to please work with us as we are anticipating localised flooding. The South African Weather Service has indicated that heavy downpours will continue up until the weekend. We are continuing to monitor every corner of the province of KZN," he said.

Authorities are urging motorists to drive carefully on the roads.
