Watch issued for heavy rain across KZN

Heavy downpours are expected across the province this afternoon, with a possibility of flooding in some areas.

The SA Weather Service's Stacey Colborne says low-lying areas can expect some flooding this evening.

"We are expecting an 80 percent chance of showers over the entire province. There is a watch out for severe thunderstorms as well. With this heavy downpours, there is a chance for flooding in low-lying areas," she said.

People are being advised not to walk alongside rivers that could burst their banks.

Communities are also being urged to take the necessary precautions should thunderstorms be experienced in their areas.
