KZN Deputy Speaker found dead

The province wakes up this morning to news that Provincial Legislature Deputy Speaker Mluleki Ndobe has died.

Ndobe was a former mayor of the Harry Gwala District Municipality. He was also linked to the murder of Umzimkhulu councillor Sindiso Magaqa in 2017.
According to KZN ANC spokesperson, Nhlakanipho Ntombela, Ndobe had been diagnosed with cancer and had been in and out of hospital for treatment.
Ntombela has also described Ndobe as a dedicated comrade.
"He had been in and out of hospital suffering from colon cancer and at this point we would like pass our condolences to his family", he said.
"We have lost a leader in our movement and we will be hearing from the family about the way forward", Ntombela said.
