KZN Department urges pupils against carrying weapons
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
The KwaZulu-Natal Education Department is pleading with pupils from across the province not to take weapons to school, and to report all fights immediately.
This after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death - allegedly by two fellow pupils - at an Inanda high school on Monday.
Spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi says they received the news that evening while they were returning from a visit to a school in KwaMakhutha where two pupils were fatally stabbed last week.
"This is very disturbing - when we have just laid to rest two of our learners from KwaMakhutha. Now, to hear such disturbing news," Mahlambi said.

No arrests have been made, but Mahlambi says those responsible will be brought to book.
"Police are going to deal with them. Even if they are going to be apprehended, this will not bring back the lives that are lost. We are making a call to pupils not to bring weapons to school.
Mahlambi says the department is urging pupils to report altercations to teachers.
"We want educators to take whatever incident that's reported very seriously," he said.
