KZN DA oppose government land ownership

The DA in KZN feels the government ownership of land will not translate into the automatic improvement of people's lives.
Party members briefed the media on the issue in Durban yesterday.
The DA's Vusumzi Magwebu says only government will benefit if it's the sole owner of the land.

The party wants citizens to be issued title deeds which it believes will offer dignity and security.
"This could be done within the existing legal framework. There's no need for amending Section 25. Section 25 means that government will own the land. People on the ground want to own the land. How can they be trusted if they take total control of the land?," Magwebu said.
