KZN Cogta hopes for closure after traditional leader’s killers sentenced
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in KZN says it hopes the sentences handed down in the murder case of a traditional leader will help bring closure to the man's family.

Inkosi Mzomuhle Zondi was gunned down at his homestead in Nkandla in 2021.
He was 24-years-old.
His stepmother, Lizzy Zondi, and an induna, Celimpilo Shabangu, were given life sentences in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Thursday.
They hired a hitman known as 'Mkhize' to kill Zondi.

The department's Soboniso Mngadi says the third suspect is still on the run.
"As the department, we welcome the sentence imposed on the perpetrators. We hope that the law enforcement agencies will continue to make breakthroughs in apprehension and conviction of these inhumane and barbaric crimes.
"It is also worrying that the culprits were people close to Inkosi Uzondi, who were entrusted with his protection. The killings of Amakhosi remain a concern in our province, and we applaud the effort of the police and the judiciary in this case."
