A KwaZulu-Natal woman accused of defrauding the Labour Department has been granted R5 000 bail in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
Phathiswa Bodlani was arrested on Tuesday.
Officials say the 37-year-old Bodlani's company registered 49 employees at the Department of Labour for its Unemployment Insurance Fund between April 2020 and August 2020.

It's alleged she claimed over R1 million from the Covid-19 Temporary Employer-Employee Relief Scheme.
Officials say the department later discovered that some of the registered employees were not working for her company and a case of fraud was opened at Durban Central police station.
The case has been postponed to next month.
