KZN ANC wants thorough probe after Umzimkhulu member gunned down
Updated | By Portia Cele
The ANC says investigators need to get to the root cause of political killings in KwaZulu-Natal.
ANC member, Nkosikhona Maxhakaza was gunned down on Saturday night outside his Rietvlei Umzimkhulu home in the Harry Gwala District.
Police say Maxhakaza was fixing a light bulb on the porch of his home when he was shot multiple times. He died at the scene.
Sifiso Cele, a branch treasurer on the south coast, was killed after gunmen stormed his house earlier this month. His wife and children were locked into their bathroom during the attack.

Regional secretary of the ANC in the lower South Coast, Mzwandile Mkhwanazi says the growing trend of ANC members in KwaZulu-Natal being attacked in their homes is a societal issue.
"We need to teach our society about the importance of human life. I think that is our responsibility, because our people are beginning to undermine the right to human life.
"I support the position that says let us bring in experienced investigators so that they can investigate the causal factors of this," he said.
