KZN ANC verdict expected following disrupted conference
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal says a decision on the way forward, following its failed provincial elective conference, will be made soon.
The party's provincial leadership met with national structures yesterday to take its mandate on the issue from the mother body.
Chaos erupted at the party's PEC this weekend - after the Pietermaritzburg High Court granted an interdict preventing it from going ahead on Friday.
KZN ANC coordinator, Sihle Zikalala said in a text message to Newswatch that it would proceed with the steps announced at the weekend once its meeting with the party's national leadership had wrapped up.
Zikalala had said that they would challenge the court's decision to grant an interdict to several disgruntled regions looking to put the brakes on the conference in Empangeni.

This weekend's conference was meant to be a re-run of the 2015 PEC that was declared unlawful last year.
The event went awry - when delegates did not allow Gwede Mantashe to speak.
