KZN ANC to lay charges against Makhosi Khoza
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
The ANC in KZN says it will lay formal charges against ANC MP Makhosi Khoza for allegedly bringing the party into disrepute.
Khoza has made several public calls for President Jacob Zuma to step down.
The party in the province called for disciplinary action to be taken against Khoza yesterday, describing her criticism of Zuma as 'disrespectful'.
The ANC's spokesperson in KZN - Mdumiseni Ntuli feels Khoza has crossed the line.
"The provincial executive committee has decided that Makhosi Khoza must be brought before a disciplinary committee. We have directed the officials of the ANC to ensure that proper charges are formulated. The major concern we have is that her conduct consistently seems to be bringing the organisation into disrepute," he said.
Khoza responded on Facebook earlier, asking whether the ANC in KZN - whose legitimacy she says is being questioned - has the power to institute disciplinary proceedings.
She described herself as a disciplined party member, trying to fix the image of and save the ANC mission.
