The party's Super Zuma says senior leadership will be speaking at the event.

"The ANC-led alliance will hold a provincial rally in Durban Curries Fountain Sports Ground which will be addressed by the alliance senior leadership - the general secretary of the SACP Blade Nzimande as the main speaker," he said.

The ANC made the announcement at a media briefing in Durban - where the SACP, Cosatu and SANCO representatives addressed journalists.

Zuma says their second march will be held on Workers Day.

"The Alliance leadership will mobilise and join thousands of working class workers in our country to commemorate Workers Day," he said.

Asked on the apparent differing views and calls within the alliance on President Jacob Zuma stepping down, Cosatu's Edwin Mkhize says it's normal for constituents not to hold the same views.

"In this alliance that we are in, there will always be contradictions and differing of views. Remember that we are the alliance but we are independent partners within the alliance. As Cosatu, we represent workers and we will make sure the voice of the workers prevails. That's why we have the right to pronounce as Cosatu - it's got its own structures," he said.
