KZN among provinces with highest number of whistleblower reports
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Corruption Watch says KwaZulu-Natal is one of four provinces that received the highest number of whistleblower reports in the first half of the year.
The NPO says these highlighted rampant fraud, maladministration, abuse of authority, extortion and bribery in both the public and private sectors.
The watchdog released its Analysis of Corruption Trends report on Tuesday.

Senior researcher Melusi Ncala says Gauteng, Western Cape and Limpopo also saw a large number of serious complaints, which included the victimisation of whistleblowers.
"What the 1 037 reports of corruption reveal is that the endemic nature of graft is not only restricted to grand and political acts of corruption.
"Yet again, we learn through the testimony of ordinary people that corruption remains central to the abuse of fundamental human rights and that whistleblowing comes at a high price in South Africa."
