KwaMashu pedestrian crash claims life of 8-year-old girl

An 8-year-old girl has been killed and another child's been rushed to hospital after they were both hit by a car in KwaMashu, north of Durban.

The girls had been on their way to school on Malandela Road when tragedy struck.
KZN EMS spokesperson, Robert Mckenzie says the 8-year-old child was declared dead on scene.
"A girl aged 11-years-old has sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition," said Mckenzie.
The exact circumstances leading up to the incident are still unknown and will be investigated by police.
