Kessie Nair's bail application gets underway
Community members have gathered at the Verulam Magistrate's Court where Kessie Nair's due to apply for bail.
The Phoenix resident's racist remarks drew the ire of social media users and government, after he filmed himself using the K-word when referring to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Nair is facing seven charges of crimen injuria.
Officials from the scene say Nair's family is in court. The Durban businessman has also been brought into the dock.

It's been exactly a week since members of the Hawks swooped in on his home and arrested him.
He made a brief appearance in court last week and his bail application is set to get underway today.
