Kaunda: Water damage repairs on track
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
eThekwini mayor Mxolisi Kaunda says repairs on water infrastructure destroyed by the April floods are on track.
This as the city with Umgeni Water are currently running water rationing for large parts of the city, so major pipelines at the Durban Heights Water Treatment Plant are repaired and recommissioned.
Umgeni Water promised that Durban communities can expect running water by Christmas.
Kaunda was speaking during a media briefing in Umhlanga on Tuesday.

"While water rationing is in place, we are continuing to monitor our systems to ensure that this intervention does not have an adverse effect on businesses and communities.
"We are committed to make Durban the best destination for tourists and we are working with all stakeholders to make sure we live up as South Africa's playground and a destination of choice for major events."
