Justice dept confirms Interpol red notice for Gupta brothers

Interpol has issued red notices for Atul and Rajesh Gupta.
"This is a positive development and we hope to see justice take it's course," says Justice and Correctional Services spokesperson Chrispin Phiri.
It's in connection with fraud charges relating to a contract concluded between the company, Nulane and the Free State Department of Agriculture in 2011 worth over R24 million.
It's alleged the fraudulent proceeds of R24.9 million paid to Nulane by the Department was transferred between Nulane and several companies, including Gupta entity Islandsite.

Last year, the NPA's Investigating Directorate confirmed that it had seized three Gupta family-owned homed worth millions in Constantia and Saxonworld.
The Directorate confirmed that they had been granted an order to freeze assets of Iqbal Sharma, Atul and Rajesh Gupta and their wives, Chetali and Arti Gupta, respectively.
