Goldstone was arrested during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He appeared in the dock this morning with a bandage on his head and dark circles beneath his eyes.

The court heard that he has abandoned his bid for bail and has already made a full confession in front of a magistrate.

The case has been adjourned until later this month for the Director of Public Prosecutions to make the necessary arrangements for him to plea.
