His lawyers are also set to file a special plea that seeks to remove the State's lead prosecutor from the case.

Zuma and an arms manufacturer are facing racketeering, fraud and money laundering charges, all linked to the arms deal.

The trial in the case for Zuma and French Arms company, Thales was set to go ahead in court last week but things didn't go as planned.

Zuma's new counsel, lead by Advocate Thabani Masuku said that they would be filing a special plea challenging Prosecutor, Billy Downer's authority to prosecute the case. If successful the plea could see downer recuse himself.

The court also heard that Zuma intends pleading not guilty to the charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering.

They're facing racketeering, corruption, money laundering, and fraud charges relating to the multi-million rand arms deal.

Last week Thursday, NPA spokesperson Sipho Ngwema confirmed that the papers had been filled and confirmed that the prosecutions body will reject the plea application in court.
