Jacob Zuma survives crash, ‘drunk’ driver arrested

Former president Jacob Zuma has been involved in an accident in KwaZulu-Natal.
A car collided with the armoured state vehicle that Zuma and his protectors were travelling in on Thursday evening near Eshowe.
Police say the crash happened on the R66.

“No one was injured including members of the Presidential Protection Services(PPS). The former President was evacuated and taken to his residence,” added national SAPS spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe.
Mathe says a 51-year-old man has been arrested for drunken driving as well as a charge of reckless and negligent driving.
He is expected to appear before the Eshowe Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
