Jacob Zuma's corruption case returns to court
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
Former president, Jacob Zuma’s due back in the dock today, armed with a new legal team after parting ways with attorney Michael Hulley.
Zuma and Thint face a raft of fraud and corruption charges - in connection with allegations that he accepted dodgy payments, after signing off on a controversial multi-billion-rand deal with the French arms company in the nineties.
Last time the case was in court back in June, state advocate Billy Downer requested an adjournment - in part for the NPA to consider representations from Thint to have the charges against it withdrawn.

It has since emerged that the NPA isn't backing down. But Thint's representative won't join Zuma in the dock as she has been excused from proceedings. The proceedings are expected to be short and the case to be adjourned once again.
The parties are expected to have agreed on a timetable setting a way forward as indicated in June.
