Jacob Zuma: It would be a betrayal to campaign for ANC
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
Former president Jacob Zuma says it would be a betrayal to campaign and vote for the current ANC led by Cyril Ramaphosa in next year's elections.

He says his conscience will not allow him to lie to people and convince them to vote for the ruling party.
Zuma held a media briefing yesterday in Soweto where he outlined his plans for the 2024 polls.
In a shock announcement, he said that he will vote instead for the newly registered MK or uMkhonto Wesizwe party but remains a member of the ANC.

His speech was read out by his daughter Duduzile Zuma.
"Best management would've successfully prevented load shedding and adopted nuclear energy many years ago. Today we are told that nuclear power has suddenly become affordable,"
"My conscience would not allow me to lie to the people of South Africa and to pretend the ANC of Ramaphosa is the ANC of Luthuli. It is not the ANC that I joined and that I went to jail for."
"I fully agree with former leaders like President Thabo Mbeki and others, that it would be a betrayal to campaign the ANC of Ramaphosa."
