It's unfair to hold me solely accountable: Peer
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
eThekwini deputy mayor, Fawzia Peer says it is unfair that her name is being dragged through the mud after the recording of a heated telephone call was made public.
The argument is understood to have been with a resident from Reservoir Hills.
The deputy mayor is accused of only taking part in extravagant events, including helicopter flips and photo shoots, opposed to serving people.
Peer defended herself, saying she always works to assist communities. She said the helicopter ride, for example, was taken to view rock-throwing hotspots in the city.

Peer says all wards have a councillor in charge of attending to the needs of residents. She says it is unfair to hold her solely accountable:
Peer claims she did not know the call was being recorded and insists proper procedures were not followed in raising concern.
eanwhile, the DA in eThekwini says it has written to the Speaker of the Council to report Peer's conduct. The opposition party says it will be following up on the issue.
