Matric Results

The timetable incorporated both the June and the November exams because of the lockdown that was imposed in March last year.

The learners had to study under unprecedented circumstances as the coronavirus pandemic took hold.

Durban-based educational psychologist, Nicola Buhr, says they should be applauded for their resilience.

Buhr says those who don't pass should know it's not the end of the road, "If they do poorly or they don't do as well as they expect to do then there are options. They mustn't see it as they end of the world."

" The department of education has been grateful for the second chance programme at this point.  If they didn't get that matric certificate they can rewrite the exam and alternatively understand that they do not have to go to university so they can go into certificate courses or diploma courses for those who got diplomas and there's also an option of going directly into the job market."
