It's not the end of the road says psychologist to disappointed matrics

It's not the end of the road, that's the message from a KZN psychologist to matric learners who are disappointed by their final results.

Over 700 000 pupils sat for the 2019 National Senior Certificate exams. While many learners are out celebrating, some have been left disheartened by their results.

Clinical Psychologist, Melissa Boulind says there are a lot of avenues to explore such as rewriting exams.


She advises parents and caregivers to take a step back - and offer support for learners who are feeling low or depressed about their results.

She says, " These matric marks and results are only small part of who you are as a person and not passing your matric or not getting the desired result does not mean the end of your dreams or goals that you have set for yourself." 


Remember that there are many routes to get to your destination but it just means you might have to look at another option," adds Boulind.
