Isipingo ward councillor says elderly woman's murder 'senseless'
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A ward councillor in Isipingo says the murder of an elderly woman there has left their community in shock.

Police say the 67-year-old woman was strangled to death last night - and had her cellphone stolen.
Officers later tracked down the suspect. Police are also investigating if the woman was raped.
Ward Councillor, Sunil Brijmohan says the community has been complaining about crime for many years.
"It's very unfortunate that someone has to lose their life over a cellphone. There should be no crime in any event but losing a life over a cellphone is absolutely devastating. There are a lot of efforts placed on the CPFs. We are still getting isolated cases - we can't tell you that we are totally crime free," Brijmohan said.
