Isipingo community says wait for houses too long
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
The Isipingo community wants eThekwini Municipality to conclude matters around a housing project so construction can begin.
Locals took part in another protest on Friday morning - the second this week.
They say the wait has been far too long.
On Monday, the municipality promised to get back to them on Thursday.
Community member, Nkosikhona Magutshwa says the meeting with the City was meant to have taken place three months ago.
"We don't know what is happening. Maybe he is avoiding us. We want to know about our houses because they promised us. The only thing we need from them is just to sign.

"Now they are just avoiding us. They are telling us they are coming, but they are running away from us. So we don't know which is which."
Ward 90 Councillor Brijmohan Sunil, who met with the community on Friday morning, says the community's plea is landing on deaf ears.
"The community is just asking for a simple meeting that would take probably 30 minutes. There is a project that has been earmarked for this community.
"The project has been passed. All we need is the blessings or the authorisation and we are sorted."
