IO opposes #MiguelLouw accused's new bail bid
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
The State says it has a strong case against Mohammed Ebrahim, the Phoenix butcher accused of killing 10-year-old Miguel Louw.

The local school boy was reported missing in mid-July and Ebrahim was arrested on a kidnapping charge, just days later.
He was released on bail but then in September, Miguel's body was found in dense bush, in Phoenix, and earlier this month, Ebrahim was re-arrested on a murder charge.
He is now re-applying for bail. The investigating officer took the stand to oppose his application yesterday.

Detective Warrant Officer Rajan Govendar says while the evidence implicating Ebrahim in Miguel's murder is circumstantial, there is a strong prima facie case against him.
He makes much of the fact that that the pathologist who examined Miguel's body established that he had been dead for more than four weeks before he was found.
This means he was possibly killed on the day he disappeared before Ebrahim was arrested.
It's also known that after Miguel's last known sighting at the KFC in Sydenham with Ebrahim, the accused went to his family home in Phoenix which is just a few hundred metres from where the child's body was eventually discovered.
