Inquest docket opened following Durban Harbour fire

Police are probing a devastating fire at the Durban Harbour which has claimed the lives of six people.

Firefighters worked through the night to extinguish the blaze.
The bodies were recovered from the vessel in the early hours of his morning.
It is understood five of the victims are Mozambican nationals, while the sixth is Portuguese. It is believed they were all crew members.
National police spokesperson, Vishnu Naidu says the cause of the fire is being investigated. He says an inquest docket has been opened.

"That will determine the circumstances [surrounding the incident] and the cause of death. Once that process has been completed, it will either go to the inquest prosecutor to make a decision or it will be referred to an inquest court to have an inquest hearing on it," said Naidu.
