Infighting has tainted legacy of ANC: Zweli Mkhize
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen, Jarryd Subroyen
Zweli Mkhize has spoken out against factionalism within the ANC.
The party's treasurer-general addressed students at the Mangosuthu University of Technology in Umlazi yesterday.
He said infighting has tainted the legacy of the ANC.
He says for the ruling party to address its challenges in the correct manner, unity must be the driving force while leaders set the example.
"It cannot be that the ANC should be allowed to tear itself apart through factionalism," he says.

Meanwhile, Mkhize says the ANC will continue to fight for free tertiary education for the country's youth.
He says access to education is the most important step towards achieving radical economic transformation.
"It's one of the ways of being able to bridge the gap which is the problem of inequality and poverty."
