IFP's scandal-hit KZN councillors recalled

The Inkatha Freedom Party has decided to axe disgraced councillors featured in scandalous leaked voice notes in KwaZulu-Natal.

The party wants the Mayor of AbaQulusi Local Municipality Mncedisi Maphisa and Alfred Duma, councillor Abbas Warasally, recalled with immediate effect.
The IFP announced Warasally's resignation at its national executive committee meeting this week.

The councillor allegedly promised a woman a permanent job in exchange for sex.
In a separate recording, Maphisa was heard instructing staff to check with him first before hiring new employees.
The IFP's said in a statement that it remains committed to holding its members accountable for their actions.
