IFP wants answers over 'bullied' Isipingo pupil who took own life
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The IFP in KZN has asked Education MEC Kwazi Mshengu to investigate claims that an Isipingo Secondary School pupil took her own life after enduring bullying at the school.
The party's Mntomuhle Khawula says the Grade 10 learner passed away this week.
He says family members who've since visited the school were told that she'd been teased about her appearance.
Khawula says they're concerned about reports that one of her bullies was expelled from another school for the same reason.

"It went to the extent where it is alleged that another learner took off her mask and made a video which was sort of making a mockery of her facial looks, especially her teeth.
"Now, we are asking the Department of Education to make an inquiry so that truth will come out as to what happened. If these allegations are true, then something has to be done because this bullying really is unacceptable."
