IEC received 100 000 special vote applications in KZN: official
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
It's the second day of special voting, ahead of the 2019 General Election tomorrow.
The IEC says it doesn't have plans to extend voting hours today.
Officials are hopeful they'll get to the remaining voters who made successful applications for special votes by the 5pm deadline.
Acting provincial officer, Ntombifuthi Masinga says there were more than 100 000 approved special vote applications in KZN of which around 70 000 were home visits.

While voting is unlikely to go beyond the 5pm closing time today, Masinga says anyone who's unable to cast their special vote can head to their registered voting station tomorrow.
"If for any reason we are not able to reach everyone that we are supposed to visit - we are encouraging people to assist those people to get to voting stations on Election Day. With the high number of home visits we received, there's a good chance that we are not going to get to everyone," Masinga said.
