'I didn't want to sue the MK association': Ronnie Kasrils
Updated | By Anelisa Khubeka
Almost two years ago, Kebby Maphatsoe accused Kasrils of orchestrating the rape allegations against President Jacob Zuma.
The case involved a 31-year-old HIV positive woman - who was the daughter of a family friend.
She became widely known as as Khwezi. Zuma was then acquitted of all charges in 2006.
Maphatsoe also accused Kasrils of trying to get rid of the MK veterans so he could sell the country's secrets.
Kasrils is suing Maphatsoe for R1-million for allegedly calling him an enemy of the people.
The court hearing was meant to go ahead yesterday but was postponed after the association asked for time to prepare its application to join the hearing as the second respondent.
Kasrils says he never thought he'd one day be suing the association.
"I've been in MK from its inception, in fact from Durban days in 1961 when MK was established. So, I didn't want to be a person suing MK MVA. Since they are taking the decision that they wish it be on board. It's up to them - it's their decision," he said.
