Hunt for Eshowe triple murder 'mastermind'

A police manhunt is underway for the alleged mastermind of a triple murder in Eshowe.

A local court issued a warrant for the arrest of Sicelo Sikakane, who is also facing charges for the attempted murder of three other members of the Mkhize family.
Sikakane and his accomplice Thuthukani Mthethwa are alleged to have gone to a home in eMtilombo where an argument broke out with Nduduzo Mkhize.
KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says Sikakane is believed to have opened fire on Mkhize as he tried to run into his house.

The suspects followed him and shot and killed a 32-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy.
"Three other family members were also shot at but survived.
"Mthethwa (34) was arrested the following morning and has already appeared in court where he was remanded in custody. He will be back in the dock on Friday, 28 April 2023.
"Sikakane is believed to be hiding in one of the hostels in Johannesburg."
