Hunt continues for PMB robbers after deadly shootout

A manhunt is still on for two suspects who escaped after a business robbery turned into a fatal shootout in Pietermaritzburg.

A business on Pietermaritz Street was targetted on Wednesday.
KZN police spokesperson Thenjiswa Ngcobo says a gang of five opened fire on police as they arrived on the premises.

Three of the robbers were killed in a shootout and the remaining two fled on foot.
"Police are investigating cases of attempted murder, business robbery, possession of stolen property as well as unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition against the men."
Ngcobo says all of the stolen goods were recovered from the suspects' vehicle.
