How South Africans have responded to #BlackMonday
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
An ongoing trend on Twitter this morning, Newswatch looks at how South Africans have responded to the call to support the campaign, #BlackMonday. The campaign follows President Zuma's Cabinet reshuffle, resulting in the dismissal of former finance minister, Pravin Gordhan and his deputy, Mcebisi Jonas.

Listen to the full bulletin below.
Members of civil rights group, Save SA, have gathered at Church Square in Pretoria on Monday morning - participating in the #OccupyLuthuli march. The civil rights group says the march calls for an end to state capture and to protect democracy.
Speaking at the gathering; convener of the new trade union federation SAFTU, Zwelinzima Vavi says President Zuma represents destruction.

Vavi says in the past seven years under Zuma watch the country has broken down. He's also taken a swipe at SARS commissioner Tom Moyane - saying he's been captured by the Gupta family.
Another march to the Union Buildings is scheduled to take place on Friday.

We call on honest, decent South Africans to wear black on Monday to signal our disgust & rejection of state capture. #Blackmonday pic.twitter.com/xHniYc3joj

Dear SA people: We have reached a place where we need to address leadership discomfort regardless of its skin colour. #BlackMonday

I'll be wearing black on Monday to show concern for the state of leadership in the country. How can a Pravin Gordhan be fired? #Blackmonday

Meanwhile, some South Africans have criticised the campaign, see those reactions below.
OK, I also want Zuma to go!

BUT I WON'T wear black tomorrow. NOT UNTIL we equally have a #BlackMonday against poverty & unemployment!
I hope y'all don't confuse our rejection of #Blackmonday with support for JZ' s actions 😊

Where was #BlackMonday for 300 years of colonialism & 48 years of aparthied? It miraculously appears when there's a cabinet reshuffle.

Immediately when we make #Blackmonday a racial issue we are loosing it. We're in this struggle together. Unity is all we need!
