Hot, humid weather conditions in KZN
Updated | By Natarah Nadesan
It's a warm day in KwaZulu-Natal - as mercury soars to above 30 degrees in most parts of the province.
Weather forecasters say we're in for a hot and humid day, with extremely uncomfortable conditions along the coast and adjacent interior.
In Durban, the maximum temperature's rising to 34-degrees.
Richards Bay's climbing to 35 and Pietermaritzburg will be baking at a high of 36.
KZN EMS spokesperson Robert Mckenzie says it's very important for people, especially children and the elderly - to keep hydrated and cool today.
"People are being advised to stay out of the heat between 10am and 3pm. The average adult needs to drink about two litres of water a day to stay well hydrated.
"Don't forget children are also at risk when they are at school so make sure that they have taken enough water or juice to school and refill their juice bottles at school so that they stay well hydrated," he said.
