Homes in eThekwini damaged, destroyed by storm

Officials from the
Department of Cooperative Governance say the storm that rolled into KZN this
week damaged several homes in parts of eThekwini, including
KwaMashu.
Heavy rains lashed Ubuhlebezwe and Harry Gwala, where two properties were destroyed.
The department says it evacuated the affected residents.
It has been assessing the impact of the downpours.

The SA Weather Service issued several warnings for disruptive rain in parts of the province this week.
Forecaster Ayanda Nsele says the heavy rains have subsided for now.
"We don't have any alerts. At the moment we have 30% chance of light rain over the eastern parts of the province and then clearing up from late morning but will remain partly cloudy throughout the day."
