Updated | By Mamelisa Ngcongo
The Department of Home Affairs is keeping its doors open for longer to accommodate voters who need to collect their IDs or need temporary ones.

Its offices are open until 7 pm on Tuesday and until 9 pm on Wednesday.
KZN Provincial Manager Cyril Mncwabe admitted that some Home Affairs offices are experiencing long queues.

"The hours day are mainly to assist people who are who are going to vote. Will give priority to people who care coming to collect their IDs and coming to apply for temporary IDs."
He said IDs will take priority as passports or driver's licenses won't be accepted for voting.
