Hillary Gardee murder suspects abandon bail bid

The case against the three suspects linked to the murder of Hillary Gardee has been postponed to 9 June in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court.

The case was postponed after all three suspects decided to abandon their bail application.
They appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday after they were arrested in Mbombela and Schoemansdal over the weekend.
The 28-year-old Gardee, who was the daughter of former EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee, was laid to rest on Saturday.

Gardee's body was found in the bushes outside Mbombela on Tuesday - days after she went missing.
The suspects face charges of murder, conspiracy to murder, kidnapping, rape, possession of firearms and defeating the ends of justice.
They have been identified as Sipho Mkhatshwa, Philemon Lukhele and Mduduzi Nkala.
Lukhele is employed at the Mpumalanga provincial legislature.
