Durban University of Technology management and staff have not been able to reach an agreement on salary increases for several weeks.

Staff affiliated to three unions downed tools in early January.

The department's Matahepo Seedat says they will meet with all parties involved on Tuesday.

“Both the university council and unions have committed to go back to the table and talk,” she said.

Striking workers are demanding a revised 8.5-percent increase, while DUT is offering a 6.5-percent.

Lectures at the varsity have been suspended.
