Wage negotiations between management and workers are not moving forward.
This after workers affiliated to three unions downed tools early last month.
DUT spokesperson Alan Khan says the institution tried to start classes at the beginning of last week.
"On Tuesday, we had a few programmes get off the ground. However, a large number of programmes were still affected. Wednesday and Thursday, we also noted there was a decline. Lecturers were not in class in their numbers. We realised that it has been a disservice to our students who are making the effort to come in from far and wide to attend classes," he said.
Workers downed tools about five weeks ago demanding better wages.
