High speed chase nets R2m worth of dagga

Dagga said to be worth R2 million has been seized following a police chase in Vryheid.

Officers were tipped off about the drug being transported.

The vehicle was spotted speeding in Gluckstadt yesterday.
Members from various police units pursued the suspects and followed them into a timber plantation.

They found the car abandoned after its occupants fled on foot.
Officers discovered 14 bales of dagga in the vehicle.
Eleven more bales were found dumped on the plantation.
The car has been impounded and a search is underway for the suspects.
