High hopes for Matric results as exams kick off

Matric pupils from the class of 2018 have begun sitting for their final exams.

The first practical exam, Computer Applications Technology, was written this morning.
English Paper One will be written next week.
Over 796,000 pupils across the country have registered for the National Senior Certificate exams.

The provincial Education spokesperson, Kwazi Mthethwa says they are confident KwaZulu-Natal will improve on its 2017 performance.
"We have done our part to support our teachers and learners. We are very proud of our hardworking teachers. We are also proud of our very dedicated learners. We are confident that they will make the province very proud," Mthethwa said.
