High Court cancels warrant of arrest for Zuma
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The warrant of arrest to former president Jacob Zuma has been cancelled by Judge Kate Pillay in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
The warrant was issued but stayed after Zuma failed to provide a medical report to validate claims that he was ill and couldn't attend proceedings in February this year.
He, at the time, was out of the country receiving medical treatment.
Pre-trial proceedings in the matter against Zuma and French Arms company, Thales began on Tuesday.

Zuma's facing a string of charges including corruption, money laundering, and fraud linked to the arms deal.
Zuma's counsel, Advocate Muzi Sikhakhane handed in another note this morning.
"Get the doctor again whose note was disbelieved - to do it again, to indicate that Mr Zuma was indeed in Cuba and he was ill. I beg leave to hand it up and I hope it puts the matter to bed," said Sikhakhane.
