Heavy traffic expected along N3 on Monday
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The N3 Toll Concession says it expects heavy traffic on the route on Monday as the Easter weekend comes to an end.
Motorists are being advised to plan their trips as roads are expected to be busy throughout the day.
"Peak traffic travelling northbound towards Gauteng is expected to exceed 1 500 vehicles per hour between 12 noon and 6pm. The Road Traffic Inspectorate may implement traffic control measures along the road to manage traffic flow, limit congestion and improve safety all along the route and especially Van Reenen's Pass," says Thania Dhoogra.

Meanwhile, the Road Traffic Management Corporation says nearly 700 motorists have been nabbed for various offences over the Easter period.
Officers had to deal with drunken drivers, excessive speeding, overloading, and motorists producing false driver’s licences.
A speedster was also caught in Lyttleton in Centurion doing 198km an hour in a 120km zone.
The RTMC is reminding motorists to stick to the rules of the road as they return from their Easter breaks and religious pilgrimages.
