Hawks roped in after suspected gang-related hit in Durban
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Hawks have taken over an investigation into an alleged drive-by shooting outside a popular bakery in Durban.

It's understood that a man was in his vehicle when unknown suspects opened fire on Problem Mkhize Road in Berea on Thursday night.
The 50-year-old was rushed to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
KZN Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says they are investigating a case of attempted murder.

"It is suspected that it is gang-related. That is the reason why the Hawks were roped in the investigation since we are dealing with other incidents of that nature where the tow truck drivers are being shot.
"The victim is also linked to the tow truck business, so on that basis, they have centralised all those investigations under one team. No arrests have been made at this stage."
