Hammarsdale murder accused gets 30 years behind bars

A man who pleaded guilty to a family massacre in Hammarsdale has begun serving a lengthy jail term.
Twenty-four-year-old Sisenda Mvinjana was sentenced on Friday after being found guilty by the Pietermaritzburg High Court.

Mvinjana was convicted on six charges of murder and one of attempted murder, and sentenced to 30-years behind bars.
He was arrested by a Provincial Task Team in the Eastern Cape, last month.
Police say he was found in possession of a 9mm pistol - thought to be the same firearm used in killings in Georgedale.

Officers say their investigation continues - as they're still searching for more suspects.
The province's top brass commended the investigating officers for their persistence in arresting the suspect and for making sure they send a well-prepared docket for prosecution.
The family members were attacked at their home in January by at least five people.
